2. Pricing & Packages

How do I know which package is right for me?

The best way to determine the right package is to consider your wedding day timeline and how much coverage you need. If your ceremony and reception are in different locations or if you have a large guest list, a full-day package with a second photographer might be a better fit. If you’re having a small, intimate wedding, a half-day package could be sufficient. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your plans in detail and help you select the package that works best for your day.

Do you offer custom packages?

Yes, we offer custom packages that can be tailored to your specific needs. Whether you want a shorter session, additional photographers, or special requests like engagement shoots or aerial drone photography, we can build a package around your requirements. Just let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll provide you with a personalized quote.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, we offer engagement sessions as an add-on. These sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and build a rapport with us before your wedding day. During the engagement shoot, we’ll capture beautiful portraits and candid moments in a relaxed setting, and the photos are perfect for save-the-dates, invitations, or simply cherishing as part of your love story.

Are travel costs included in your pricing?

For weddings held in Melbourne, Regional Victoria, and Albury-Wodonga, there are no additional travel fees—it’s all included in the price. For interstate weddings, a travel surcharge applies to cover transportation, accommodation, and other logistical costs. We will provide an estimate for the travel surcharge during the booking process, so there are no surprises later on.

Do you require full payment upfront or in installments?

We require a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure your booking and reserve your date on our calendar. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding. If you need to make adjustments to the payment schedule, such as paying in installments, please let us know, and we can discuss options to make the process more flexible for you.

3. Wedding countdown

When will you contact us to discuss the wedding day timeline?

We will contact you about 4-6 weeks before your wedding day to go over the final details of your timeline. This is when we’ll collect information on the exact timings of key events like the ceremony, reception, first look, and more. We'll ensure that we capture everything you want without missing a moment, so it's essential to confirm the schedule and logistics during this time.

Do you need a detailed timeline for our wedding day?

Yes, having a detailed wedding day timeline is crucial for us to plan our photography coverage effectively. We will ask you for a schedule of events, including the time for hair and makeup, first look, ceremony, family portraits, and reception entrance. This helps us ensure we capture every key moment at the right time and avoid any delays or conflicts.

Do you help us create the timeline for the day?

Yes, we can provide guidance when it comes to the wedding day timeline. While we’ll request your input and specifics, we’ll also offer our professional advice to make sure your day flows smoothly and leaves enough time for your portraits, family shots, and other important moments. We aim to work with you, your wedding planner (if you have one), and other vendors to coordinate everything seamlessly.

What should we do if we have a tight schedule on our wedding day?

If you're working with a tight schedule, let us know in advance so we can make adjustments. We'll help you prioritize key moments and work within your timeline. If certain events (like family portraits or first look) need to be condensed, we'll make sure everything is captured while minimizing any stress or rush. Planning time buffers between major events will also help prevent any overlaps.

What do we need to provide for the "getting ready" shots?

For the getting ready shots, we recommend having your bridal and groom’s attire, accessories, shoes, and any special details (such as heirlooms, jewelry, or custom items) ready. We'll also capture flat lay details, like the wedding rings, invitation suite, and other meaningful items. Please ensure all of these items are in one place so we can photograph them efficiently. We’ll guide you on how to arrange them beautifully!

How should we prepare for the “first look” photos?

For the first look, we suggest having the moment planned in a quiet, private spot where the bride and groom can have an intimate, emotional exchange. If you choose to do a first look, we’ll guide you on how to position yourselves, but we recommend being relaxed and in the moment. The first look is a special opportunity for intimate portraits before the hustle of the ceremony, so make sure to allow time for this in the schedule.

Should we do a champagne toast or any other special moments before the ceremony?

If you’re planning a champagne toast, a gift exchange, or another special moment before the ceremony, please include this in the timeline. We’ll coordinate with you to ensure we capture these moments without feeling rushed. These shots can be beautiful and meaningful, especially for the getting ready shots. Make sure everything is ready (including glasses, flutes, and the champagne itself) before we begin shooting.

What if we want to do a "first look" with our parents or bridal party?

If you'd like to do a first look with your parents or bridal party, we can absolutely accommodate that! Just let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. We recommend doing this right before or after the couple’s first look so that we can capture those emotional moments without feeling too rushed. It’s important to build this into the timeline to ensure we have enough time for these special interactions.

What should we carry for detail shots (rings, shoes, etc.)?

For beautiful detail shots, please gather the following items before we arrive:

  • Wedding rings (including engagement rings)

  • Wedding invitations (for flat lay shots)

  • Shoes, jewelry, and perfume

  • Bridal bouquet (if available early)

  • Vow books or other sentimental items you want to be photographed We recommend placing these items together in a designated area (like a jewelry box, clutch, or on a decorative tray) to streamline the process.

Do you need us to designate a person to help with photography on the day?

Yes, it’s incredibly helpful if you can designate someone to assist with photography logistics on the day, especially for the getting ready portion. This person can help gather your items for detail shots, provide us with any necessary timeline updates, and assist with coordinating family or group photos. It’s often someone who is familiar with the schedule and can step in when needed—this can be a maid of honor, best man, or a close friend/family member.

4. Wedding Day Photography

How early should we expect you to arrive on the wedding day?

On the wedding day, we typically arrive 1–2 hours before the ceremony to capture the getting ready moments, including the bride and groom’s preparations, details like rings, shoes, and invitations, as well as any early moments of the bridal party. For full-day coverage, we’ll coordinate with you to ensure we're on-site at the appropriate time to start photographing key moments without feeling rushed.

What happens if the wedding day runs behind schedule?

If the wedding day falls behind schedule, we will adapt and work with your new timeline. We’ll prioritize key moments like your ceremony, family portraits, and couple’s portraits to ensure we capture everything important. If needed, we can also discuss extending our coverage to make sure no moment is missed. Our goal is to remain flexible and stress-free, working with your schedule as smoothly as possible.

Will you take photos during the ceremony?

Yes! We’ll be photographing throughout the ceremony, ensuring we capture candid moments like the exchange of vows, first kiss, and reactions from the couple and guests. We’ll be discreet to avoid distracting from the ceremony but will make sure we capture every important moment. If you have any preferences (e.g., no flash photography during the ceremony), let us know in advance.

Can we take group photos with our family and friends?

Absolutely! Group photos are an essential part of your wedding day, and we’ll ensure that we capture all your family and friends in beautiful portraits. We recommend creating a list of family and group shots ahead of time so we can organize everyone quickly and efficiently. We'll guide the group through each shot to keep things flowing smoothly.

How do you ensure we look natural in our photos?

We take a relaxed, documentary-style approach to capture genuine moments between you and your guests. For posed shots, we will provide gentle direction to help you feel comfortable and look natural without being overly staged. During candid moments, we aim to capture the real emotions of the day, so you can relive the joy and love as it happened.

How long will the photography session take after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, we typically allocate about 30–60 minutes for couple portraits. If you have additional group photos or special shots in mind, we may need a bit more time. For couples who want to do a first look prior to the ceremony, this time can be used for additional portraits, leaving more time for guests and events after the ceremony.

What if there’s bad weather on the wedding day?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate on your wedding day, we’ll have a backup plan. We have plenty of creative ideas for indoor photos and can also use umbrellas or shelter for outdoor shots. If you're having an outdoor ceremony, we recommend discussing an indoor venue option just in case, but rest assured, we’ll make the most of the conditions and capture stunning images no matter what.

Do you take candid photos or only posed shots?

At Lensation Studio, we focus on capturing a combination of candid and posed shots. We love documenting the spontaneous, emotional moments as they happen naturally—whether it's a guest laughing, a tearful father-daughter moment, or the first look. We’ll also take carefully planned portraits to ensure you have a mix of timeless, formal photos alongside the natural moments.

Can we ask you to photograph certain moments or specific people?

Absolutely! We encourage you to share your specific requests or ideas with us before the wedding day. Whether it’s a special guest, a certain moment you want to be captured, or a specific family tradition, we will make sure those moments are documented. We can also work with your wedding planner or coordinator to ensure all the important elements are covered.

Can we choose specific poses or themes for our wedding photos?

Absolutely! While we love capturing natural moments, we’re happy to incorporate your ideas and specific poses. If you have a theme or certain style in mind, let us know, and we’ll work together to bring your vision to life.

Do you provide direction during the shoot?
